Dr. Tom Mullins, the founder and pastor of Christ Fellowship, a 20,000 plus member multi-site church in Florida, visited Birmingham on May 20, to share some wisdom with a local church. Weaving God’s Word through his own experiences as a former football coach, Mullins encouraged thousands of listeners to go the extra mile.

Dr. Mullins is certainly an “extra miler” himself. Known not only for work in church and his books on leadership development and vision advancement, Mullins also had a successful coaching career in high school and collegiate football. Having recorded 128 victories before moving into full time ministry, he proved to be a coach both on and off the field.

Mullins, along with his wife, are the founders of Place of Hope Children’s Home and Place of Hope International Children’s Homes which offer family style foster care and services to homeless families. In addition to his work in these ministries, Mullins travels internationally to speak on behalf of well-know Christian organizations such as EQUIP and Campus Crusade for Christ.

This life of service, marked by values of wisdom and honor, has caught the attention of influential people in Washington, DC. Selected as one of the evangelical leaders to join Donald Trump‘s Evangelical Executive Advisory Board, Mullins now brings his faith to the White House.

Mullins told an overflowing crowd on Sunday that Jesus didn’t come to give us an average life, but an abundant one. Tom certainly lives his life to reflect this truth.
